Clearance Agreement


Terms and Conditions - Bunkie Life Agreement 

Bunkie Kits: All Bunkie Kits include Door, Windows, All Logs, Hardware, Floor Boards, Roof Deck boards, and Pressure Treated Floor Sleepers. We recommend a level foundation made from deck blocks, cinder blocks, sonotubes, helical piles, concrete pad, or other foundation suited for your terrain. We also recommend several pressure treated beams or joists - model dependent (these are not included). Finish roofing material (shingles or metal) is not included. Stain is highly recommended but not included.

Sauna Kits: All Sauna Kits include Door, Windows (model dependent), All Logs, Floor Boards, Roof Membrane, Roof Boards, Benches, your choice of Heater - wood or electric, Sauna Rocks, and Chimney Adapter. Chimney flue is not included. Wood heaters should be installed by a WETT certified installer. Electrical sauna heaters should be installed and wired by a certified electrician.

Hot Tubs: Hot tub, lid, drain spout, hoses, wood heater, and chimney are all included. Hot tubs should be installed to comply with all setbacks and clearances. The hot tub only requires a hard, flat, pre-prepared surface. We recommend using patio stones or some gravel.

Permits: Client agrees to pursue all necessary permits (if applicable) and takes full responsibility for building the structure to comply with all rules, regulations, codes and bylaws and releases Bunkie Life from all claims and liabilities of any kind. 

Alterations & Modifications: Alterations, modifications, additions, or any other changes from a kit's standard design should be approved by an engineer of your choosing.

Payment: We accept payment by cash, cheque, email money transfer, direct bank transfer, Bitcoin, or credit card (3.5% CAD or 2.9% USD fee applies). A deposit must be fully paid for your order to be placed into production. Final payment is due 7 days before delivery for Ontario clients, and prior to shipping for all destinations outside of Ontario.

Delivery: Delivery is completed by a third party carrier. All objects that could be in the way of the truck/offloading equipment must be moved prior to delivery. The varying weather and firmness of the ground can complicate delivery, therefore the site must be prepared accordingly. Bunkie Life is not liable for damages on delivery including property, grass, or yard damage.

Bunkie Life reserves the right to delay based on supply chain issues and production.

If you cannot accept your bunkie delivery within the calendar year you indicated when placing your order the bunkie cost may need to be adjusted to accommodate lumber pricing at the time. 

If a delivery is delayed by the client with less than 7 days notice of the mutually agreed upon and booked delivery date, the delivery cost will be forfeited unless we can find a replacement to fill the spot on the truck.  

Additional Note: As supply chain issues continue, the best of planning can sometimes fall to the unpredictable. We pledge to contact you as soon as we can if your delivery timeline is altered in any way.

Delays: Bunkie Life is not responsible for any consequential charges due to delays. Including but not limited to hotel rooms, mileage, travel expenses, rental equipment, contractor fees, lost time, and wages.

Bunkie Assembly: Client agrees to count all pieces and do an inventory check immediately after opening their Bunkie Life package BEFORE commencing any assembly. Client agrees to notify Bunkie Life immediately of any issues. Failure to do so may void warranty and phone support. We have videos and/or digital build files to assist you in the build of your Bunkie Life product. Should a replacement piece(s) be needed, Bunkie Life will work to rectify this in as timely a manner as possible, however will not be responsible for any delay in building resulting from this. 

We recommend completing your Inventory Checklist about 1 week prior to your build. Ensure you lay a tarp out, count and stack like pieces and tarp over to protect your kit from the weather until the build date.  We recommend constructing your kit within 30 days of delivery, or we may not honour the Warranty.

Safety and Liability: The client is responsible for their own safety and the safety of those who accompany them during the build process and agrees to follow Bunkie Life product install instructions and best practices. The client agrees to use the Bunkie Life product (bunkie, sauna, hot tub, etc) in accordance with all laws, bylaws, codes, etc. and releases Bunkie Life from all claims and liabilities of any kind.

Install: Bunkie Life does not offer in house installation services, however we can provide a list of installers who are familiar with our product. This list is provided as a courtesy only. Bunkie Life assumes no responsibility for coordination, execution or follow up of your install with an installer before or after completion of your install. Please coordinate and communicate with them directly. For any troubleshooting post-build, please reach out to your installer first and foremost. In the event of a discrepancy in install billing or otherwise, please settle with the installer directly.

Refund:
IN SEASON, January to August - If for any reason you change your mind about your Bunkie Life purchase within 14 days of your initial deposit payment, we are happy to refund the payment in full, less any credit card or bank fees.

OFF SEASON, September to December - If your order is placed with the intention to deliver within the same calendar year, Bunkie Life’s refund policy is 7 days from the initial payment of your deposit (less any credit card or bank fees).

If outside of the 7-14 days since your initial deposit payment (no matter the season), Bunkie Life must sell through the product(s) you’ve purchased before your refund will be processed (less the credit card or bank fees). This is because all materials to make your product have been purchased during this time, and it is very likely already in production. “Sell Through” Definition: This means Bunkie Life has to have received the deposit from a new client for your product. If you would like to expedite the refund process, we can refund your paid amount, less a 15% cancellation fee (plus any credit card or bank fees).

Ontario: If cancelling your order less than 7 days prior to delivery, Bunkie Life reserves the right to deduct the shipping cost from your refund once the unit is sold through.

Other Provinces or States: Full payment is due before your order is shipped from the Bunkie Life Factory in Ontario. Once payment is received and your bunkie delivery has been booked, we cannot offer a refund.

If delivery has taken place, we cannot offer a refund or return. 

Custom-made bunkies are non-refundable. Discontinued bunkies will require a 15% cancellation fee due to the nature of the product. If expediting the refund process, this would compound to 30%.

Sauna orders are non-refundable once the order has been placed with the 3rd party manufacturer (this typically occurs within 1-2 days of receiving the deposit).  

We reserve the right to cancel your order at any time and provide a full refund.

Replace or Repair Warranty: Bunkie Life offers a 5 Year Repair or Replace Warranty on any manufacturer defects in all of our Bunkie Kits. We also offer a 2 Year Repair and Replace Warranty on any manufacturer defect in our Saunas and Hot Tubs. You are purchasing a high-quality wood product: knots, small splinters, wood sap, slight warps or bows are to be expected and will not affect your structural integrity. Reach out to buildsupport@bunkielife.com with pictures if you'd like us to take a look. Most pieces can be worked with. We reserve the right to determine if a piece reasonably needs replacement. Bunkie Life reserves the right to make small changes, upgrades and improvements to models as it deems necessary.

Bunkie Life is not responsible for damage (weather, insect, or other) due to kits being left unassembled after delivery. We recommend constructing your kit within 30 days of delivery, or we may not honour the Warranty. Bunkie Life is not responsible for damages due to the following (included but not limited to): improper installation, modifications or deviations from the installation instructions, wear and tear, improper sealing of the joints or wood, use of the product for other than its intended purpose, acts of God and unruly guests that refuse to leave your AWESOME bunkie.

If a piece is broken and you'd like us to inspect it for usability, please reach out to buildsupport@bunkielife.com. Bunkie Life reserves the right to determine if the piece is usable / requires a local fix or replacement. If we deem the piece requires replacement Bunkie Life will provide the piece at no cost to you, but is not responsible for the cost of transport.


You are purchasing a high-quality WOOD product, but a reminder that this is a clearance sale: knots, small splinters, wood sap, slight warps or bows are to be expected and will not affect your structural integrity. We are here to help provide some pointers on how to work with an unruly board if needed!
